India's Most
Famous Tiger Reserve
Ranthambore National Park in Rajasthan is India's most photographed tiger reserve. Its tigers are famously bold — hunting in daylight, resting near lakes, even roaming past the 10th-century Ranthambore Fort.
Covering 1,334 sq km, the park is divided into 5 safari zones with distinct habitats — from dry deciduous forests to open lakes and steep rocky ridges. Zone 3, 4 and 5 are generally considered the best for tiger sightings.
Best season: October – June. Best tiger sightings: March – May when water bodies shrink and tigers visit lakes.
